Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI) is the national charity for people with Down syndrome and their families in Ireland, supporting over 3,500 members across 25 branches nationwide. We are working to achieve an optimal quality of life for people with Down syndrome, as equally valued, independent citizens.

DSI is recruiting a Corporate Fundraising Executive to work full-time in its busy Fundraising Department, thereby helping to implement its Fundraising Strategy and maximise corporate fundraising income.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of a small Fundraising Team as well as taking ownership and proactively recruiting a number of new corporate partners. Relevant experience in a similar corporate fundraising environment or a business development role is required.

Location:    Down Syndrome Ireland, Unit 3 Park Way House, Western Parkway Business Park, Ballymount Drive, Dublin D12 HP70

Reporting to:  Corporate Fundraising Manager

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Taking ownership of a number of existing corporate partnerships and driving the relationship to deliver on objectives and maximise income
  • Actively research, target, recruit and manage a pipeline of new corporate partnerships across a variety of sectors through cold calling, networking, and leveraging the existing DSI network
  • Any other duties as designated by the Corporate Fundraising Manager

Person Specification / Required Skills and Knowledge:

  • 2+ years’ relevant experience in a Corporate Fundraising or Business Development role
  • Educated to third level or equivalent
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a small team and on own initiative
  • Energetic, enthusiastic, creative and proactive approach to all areas of work
  • Excellent networking, interpersonal and telephone skills with experience managing all level relationships with corporate partners, funders and sponsors
  • Excellent communication, organisational and administrative skills
  • Experience in writing and presenting compelling corporate funding proposals/applications with a strong attention to detail in all aspects of work
  • Experience of working within budget, meeting deadlines and exceeding income targets
  • Good knowledge of fundraising best practice and an understanding of the principles of Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Highly computer literate – proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with experience using CRM Databases and Social Media platforms
  • Flexibility in working hours and duties – the role involves occasional out of hours work
  • An understanding and empathy for the mission and work of Down Syndrome Ireland
  • Car and full clean driving licence desirable
